USA Today is reporting that Ford has issued a recall for more than a half million F-150's that rolled off the production line in 2014.

In a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or (NHTSA), they said the recall was

...due to a loss of signal between the transmission output shaft speed sensor and the powertrain control module causing the truck to downshift into first gear no matter how fast the vehicle speed.
