90 New Homes Are Coming to Great Falls Along The Missouri River

If Great Falls wants to grow, we need a whole lot more housing, and now, one piece of that puzzle has finally started falling into place.

Construction has officially started on a new housing development along the Missouri River that will bring 90 new homes to The Electric City.

Building Along The Missouri River Wasn't Easy

The new development is called The Bay View, and it will include 78 apartments and 12 townhomes.

Since this is one of the last buildable properties along the river, getting the project this far wasn't exactly easy.

Two years of engineering work was required before construction could move forward because the property sits in a floodplain.

The entire project is expected to be finished in the spring of 2028. The hope is to get the apartments started this fall, with the townhomes following in the spring of 2027.

Great Falls Needs Hundreds More Homes Every Year

The townhomes will be single-story and designed with accessibility in mind, making them a good option for older residents or anyone with a disability who may have trouble with stairs.

The timing of these new homes couldn't really be better for Great Falls.

You may remember when we told you that the Great Falls Development Alliance and the Great Falls Association of Realtors estimate the city needs roughly 600 new housing units every year for the next decade just to keep up with demand.

Obviously, these 90 homes aren't going to solve that problem, but every little bit helps.
