Montana Gets Recognition In New “Best Places” Rankings
Two Montana Cities Land On Livability’s Top 100 List

Which Montana Cities Made The Top 100
What makes the Livability Top 100 stand out a bit is that they’ve been doing this for over a decade, so it’s not just a one-off ranking. They also focus on small to mid-sized cities, saying "your paycheck goes further, your commute is shorter, and your quality of life comes first."
Now, we all know Montana has gotten a lot more expensive lately, thanks in part to the whole Yellowstone effect. Still, that idea holds true in some areas. Sorry, Bozeman.
So which two Montana cities made the cut, including one in the top 50?
Billings, Montana
Sliding in at #76, is Billings, the largest city in Montana.
Stunning scenery and nearby Yellowstone National Park are just two reasons Billings, MT, is a perfect place for nature lovers. With friendly locals, top-notch schools, and a low cost of living, residents enjoy a laid-back lifestyle and the beauty of living in the heart of Big Sky Country.
Missoula, Montana
Then there’s Missoula, which ranked higher at #42, and the report had plenty of nice things to say about this college town:
Under the Big Sky of Montana is Missoula, a city with unparalleled natural beauty. Missoula’s endless outdoor activities, friendly locals, renowned breweries, and a strong sense of environmental stewardship cultivate a tight-knit community.
Not a bad showing for Montana. If nothing else, it proves what we already know. There are some pretty great places to call home under the Big Sky, which you can see more of down below.
