That means in a town where housing costs $40,000, but you make $100,000 is actually cheaper to live than a place where you pay $20,000 for housing yet you only make $50,000.

I don't think this answer will comes as a surprise to anyone.
What actually might be more surprising is that Bozeman WASN'T number 1 last year.
They were the second most expensive place to live in Montana last year. Last year's most expensive place to live was Whitefish, which dropped to number 4 this year.
