Montana State Receives Prestigious Honor From Governor Gianforte
Montana State just wrapped up arguably one of the greatest football seasons of all time. The Bobcats finished the season with an 8-0 record and an unbelievable 14-game winning streak that took them all the way to the national championship.
Now, the Bobcats can add another milestone to their string of victories and this one could arguably mean more than the championship itself.
Montana State Bobcats Get Their Own Day In Montana
In a post from Governor Gianforte's Facebook page, the governor dedicated January 20th to the Montana State Bobcats.
"Proud to proclaim January 20th as Bobcat Day in Montana to recognize Montana State Football’s first national championship win in 41 years," Governor Gianforte shared.
It's much deserved for a team that performed so well under pressure on the grand stage. Some fans, however, weren't all for the Bobcats getting their own day with some poking fun at the idea.
"Need a GRIZ day too! Since they are all around better consistently," one person wrote.
"It comes around once every 42 years," another wrote.

One fan of the Bobcats garnered a good chunk of likes for her defense of the Bobcats while taking a playful jab at the Griz.
"Every January 20th or just this one?" the Bobcat fan shared, "Also, can you have them lower Griz flags in Missoula to half-mast on Bobcat day? Go Cats!"
Will The Griz Ever Get Their Own Day In Montana?
Sure, why not? Of course, they'd have to pull off a miraculous season similar to the Bobcats and maybe for good measure, win the championship game in overtime!
All kidding aside, anything is possible but for now, the day belongs to the Montana State Bobcats and we extend our biggest congratulations!
