Last week, I had the opportunity to interview former NBA player and CMR alumni Josh Huestis. Josh joined me on-air as he prepared to make a stop in Great Falls for the Electric basketball team's "Jersey Off Your Back Night."

Great Falls Electric Host 'Jersey Off Your Back Night'

The Great Falls Electric basketball team hosted 'Jersey Off Your Back Night' this past Saturday at St. Pat's Academy and boy, was it "electric."

For starters, my kiddos and I were greeted at the front by the nicest people you'll ever meet in your life, and they gifted my kiddos three foam #1 fingers to cheer on our guys.

We made our way in and sat behind the press table in between the team benches. And while the Electric made easy work of the Nevada Silverbacks, the night had a bigger purpose: raise money for former NBA player and CMR alumni Josh Huestis's foundation.

Huestis, a CMR High alumni, was originally drafted 29th overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2014 NBA draft following his incredible 4-year run at Standford. He played professionally from 2014 to 2022.

Since retiring, he spends his time between coaching his youth basketball teams and working on his foundation.

According to the foundation's website, "The Josh Huestis Foundation is on a mission to positively impact the lives of youth in Montana." The foundation accomplishes this with basketball camps and other activities to help young Montanans carve out their own successful path in life like Josh did.

Josh assisted with the 50/50 raffle, signed autographs, interacted with fans, and even led the crowd in song for his son's fifth birthday at halftime - super cool.

During the game, fans had the opportunity to big on special game worn jerseys by the players with proceeds benefitting the Josh Huestis Foundation.

Hard-Hitting Questions: Where Does Josh Huestis Like to Eat in Great Falls?

Josh joined 560 KMON by phone last week to talk about how epic this night would (and turned out to) be. As we were wrapping up our conversation, I asked Josh what we all wanted to know: where does a former player for the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder enjoy dining in Great Falls?

"My number one is Mongolian BBQ right there next to Target, that’s my number one spot that I have to stop at," Josh enthusiastically shared, "Throw in Best Wok, throw in Taco Treat, I would say those are my three big ones for sure."

Me being a barbecue nut, I had to ask: "What about Smoked BBQ?"

"You know, I do like Smoked," Josh replied, "You got me there."

Hey man! I was just making sure we left no brisket unturned!

But there you have it! If you ever wanted to dine like an NBA player does here in Great Falls, now you can.

We put together an A-Z guide of Famous Montanans. People count if they were born here, raised here, live here, went to school here, or have a substantial connection to Montana. We couldn't find an 'x' entry and we had to cheat on 'z' by using a first name. If you have any other recommendations, please let us know.
