Everyone has opinions about what makes a community safe and which cities are the safest in the here in the Treasure State.

You'll often hear among residents how unsafe Montana is becoming, and certain cities tend to get a bad rap for all the crime.

However, after living in larger cities, I have found that pretty much every Montana town is relatively safe compared to the big cities.

Safest Small Cities In America

The security company Vivint recently did a study on the safest small cities in America.

To determine which cities are the safest, they analyzed property crime data from 2023, and focused on larceny, motor vehicle, theft, and robbery.

The cities they looked at ranged from populations of 50,000 to 100,000 residents.

Here's what they found.
