As of late, more lawsuits are popping up around the country involving individuals suing their local governments.

There are almost countless reasons why this is happening, but for the sake of this article, let's look at the situation as a whole.

The ultimate question remains: Is a government responsible for our problems?

Structure Of The Government

First and foremost, let's look at the basic structure of government.

Love it or hate it, the government is made up of the people by the people.

I know it isn't easy, but just about anyone can get involved with politics if they so desire.

The whole goal of our governmental structure is to provide a platform for the common man or woman to make a change if they see fit.

Obviously, this has to happen with the support of other people through a vote.

Government Funding

So now that we've established how the government is structured let's look at the funding.

This one is incredibly simple: the government is funded by you and me!

Yep, pretty straightforward.

And the people who decide how much we are taxed are, you guessed it, the folks that the masses voted into office.

How To Solve Government Issues

As we established at the beginning of this article, more and more folks see it necessary to sue the government.

But is this really a solution to a problem?

Wouldn't it make more sense to get involved and make a positive change with the support of your peers instead of costing taxpayers millions just so the government can defend itself in court?

Voters In Montana

To wrap up, let's take a look at the numbers.

The latest voter information on the Montana Secretary of State website is from 2022.

In the primary election, there were 743,710 registered voters, but only 293,049 of those registered actually voted—that, my friends, is only 39.40%.

The general election wasn't much better, with 762,959 registered voters and 468,326 or 61.38% of the population actually voting.
