Mmmm, beer.  There is nothing quite like cracking a cold beer whilst enjoying one of your favorite activities in the hot sun.  Boating, golfing, branding, beer goes with every occasion like peanut butter and jelly go together.  Recently, over 10,000 entries thought that they had the best beer in the land, maybe even the world.  How did our local Montana breweries do when it comes to competing with a worldwide competition?

This Is the Party of Each Year for Beer Lovers from Across the World

Each year, brew masters convene for the annual World Beer Cup competition.  This year it was held in Nashville, TN with over 10,000 entries competing for trophies and bragging rights.  Considered the "Olympics of Beer", the competition was started in 1996 to highlight the art and science of brewing beer.  Promoted by the Brewers Association, this annual event draws brewers from around the world, including the USA, Japan, Canada and more.

Two Of Our Montana Breweries Bring Home Some Bling to Show Off

In Montana, we had two breweries that made the trip to Nashville this year, and they are now the proud owners of some new hardware to put on the mantle.  Winners at the 2023 competition include the Lewis & Clark Brewing Company of Helena, MT and Mountains Walking Brewery, based in Bozeman, MT.

Lewis & Clark Brewery brought home bronze this year in the American Wheat Beer category featuring their world-renowned Miner's Gold beer.  Mountains Walking entered in the Experimental India Pale Ale Beer category and scored a big silver win with their Sky Flowers IPA.

Congratulations to these Montana breweries on bringing home trophies and getting bragging rights for the next year!  How about you?  Have you tried any of the above?  What did you think of them, were they warranted in their respective categories and deserve to win?
