A weekend disturbance and death in the northcentral town of Havre, Montana is highlighting another violent weekend in the state. Just as people grapple with a multiple murder the weekend prior in Billings.

Havre Police Department Release Details on Weekend Homicide
The Havre Police Department responded to a call of a woman bleeding on Sunday August 30, 2026, at 4am. Upon arrival in the area of Bovine Drive in the city, officers located a female suffering from lacerations and began life-saving measures.

The victim was transported to the Northern Montana Hospital by EMT's for further medical treatment; the woman later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. Further details on the victim's identity were not available from the Havre Police or Northern Montana Hospital.
Havre Police Make Arrest in Homicide - Investigation Still Ongoing
As the investigation continued, officers identified and arrested Breana Hope Bacon, 21 years old of Box Elder, Montana as a suspect. Bacon is being held at the Hill County Jail on charges of Deliberate Homicide, Attempted Deliberate Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Tampering with Evidence.

Havre Police said that the investigation is ongoing at this time, with no further details being released. Rocky Boy Police Department, Havre Fire Department and the Hill County Sheriff's Office also assisted with the call.
