Montana is amazing. Hands down amazing. We know this, but do you know about these amazing Montana facts?

1. Montana is the only state with a triple divide. Montana's Triple Divide is one of three, which allows water to flow into the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and the Hudson Bay.

2. It's not all about the geese at Freeze Out lake. Approximately 10,000 White Pelicans migrate from the Gulf of Mexico to Medicine Lake in Sheridan County each spring.

3. This is my favorite one. It is technically still illegal for unmarried women to fish alone.

4. Back in 1888, Helena had more millionaires per capita than any other city in America. Quite a few people struck it rich during the gold rush. There was even a Millionaire Club with 140 members.

5. The first woman elected to Congress before women could even vote in the USA was Jeanette Rankin in 1916 from Montana. Jeanette was re-elected to Congress in 1940.

6.  The Montana Yogo Sapphire is featured on the Crown Jewels of England!  This is the only gem from North America that is included on the crown and Montana is the only place in the world to find Yogo Sapphires.

7.  Montana's state animal is the Grizzly bear, and we have the largest Grizzly bear population in the lower 48 states.

8. There are more bookstores per capita in Montana than any other state.

9.  Montana has a vortex.  The House of Mystery is in Columbia Falls, and the people around you will appear to shrink and grow as you walk around.  It's a quantum or gravitational anomaly that may re-define the laws of physics and nature.

10.  Montana holds the record for the largest snowflake.  In 1887 a snowflake measuring 15 inches across floated down to earth and landed in Montana.  There are many different things that Montana holds the record for, but I did not know that Montana held the record for the largest recorded snowflake.  A 15-inch snowflake must have been beautiful to watch as it slowly drifted downward.
