Bulldozer or Hot Take Remake for This Property in Great Falls
Seriously Everyone, It Has Been What I Am Sure is Over 50 Years
As a quick note regarding this property, if it is currently under contract for lease, sale or remodel, my sincere apologies for not holding out for the news from the new tenants. But seriously, when is enough going to be enough on this one.
I already know that this probably isn't going to be a popular opinion amongst many residents of our fair city. But after 50 years, maybe it really is time to say goodbye to what was, could have been, and sadly, but ultimately, what never will be.
I Can't Remember a Business on Picturesque Bay Drive in Great Falls, Do YOU?
This isn't the first time this building has been discussed on our sites, especially amongst my coworkers and myself. Many of us grew up seeing this building in several different iterations of disrepair and disrespect.
From broken windows to being boarded over with graffiti everywhere, it has definitely seen some better days. But those days are long past. After a lot of trips around the big ball of fire, I honestly can't remember a business ever being in this building in over 50 years. Ever.

Now for the Unpopular Opinion You Really Didn't Want to Hear Great Falls
Before you grab pitchforks, hear me out on this one, please. I am being serious in saying I can't remember a business in this building. Why? Maybe after 10 years or so sitting vacant, but 50+? I have to be missing something.
As noted in a previous article, the building was being listed for just over a cool million bucks. And that is before you even begin to remove those 50 years of whatever you might find.

Does it have a historic significance that I am unable to find information about? It seems to me that perhaps this is one of those times that letting go of the past might be a good thing. And perhaps breathe a certain amount of life into an otherwise complete eyesore on what could be an amazing property for the masses.
Alright, now you can let those pitchforks out of the feed stall. What should Great Falls do with this property? Keep hoping a wealthy entrepreneur will appear and make it happen? Or should it be removed to make way for something new and perhaps more than a pigeon roost and graffiti practice area.
