Major Street Blocked, See Photos of Damage in Great Falls
As I, along with the rest of the city awoke this morning, I'm pretty sure we all did the same thing. Head outside and assess the damage from wind gusts that were reported to be near 70mph in the Electric City by the National Weather Service in Great Falls.
Some areas are still blocked by limbs, debris, swimming pools and trampolines just to name a few of the items I have already seen in the last 18 hours since gusts began on Friday night.
My Area Took It Pretty Hard to Face in the Central Part of Great Falls
Early last night, pictures started rolling in across social media of anything and everthing being tossed about by sudden huge, swirling gusts of wind. My son even lost part of his fencing last night.
And as sirens began blaring across Great Falls, in our area there were some trees that blocked portions of 2nd Avenue North, between 16th Street and 14th Street. Even crosswalks weren't usable.
One Way Street Still Blocked Early Saturday, City Workers Out and Clearing
As of 10:30am this morning, the street between 16th and 15th and 2nd Avenue North is still blocked from a large tree completely across it.
City workers are currently as of this writing clearing the area. Power lines are still down in the area, so please use caution as you are out across Great Falls. See more photos below of this major street blocked and more from the area. 👇
