*UPDATE 6/6/2025: Change of conductor for one of the concerts.*

It's that time of year again.  Summer is (almost) here, and that means a long-running Great Falls tradition is about to make a return.

Namely, the Great Falls Municipal Band and their free concerts at the Gibson Park bandshell.

Sadly, this season starts off on a somber note.  "Bud" Nicholls, who served as the band's director for over 40 years until stepping down in 2021, passed away last month.

Here is the current schedule of concerts.  As of this writing, all concerts will take place Wednesday evenings at 7pm at the bandshell, weather permitting.

June 18 - Conductor:  John Gemberling, Director of Great Falls Community Jazz Band

June 25 - Conductor:  Dusty Molyneaux, Music & Fine Arts Supervisor for GF Public Schools

*This concert is the annual Summer Celebration, in partnership with Miss Linda's School of Dance and featuring performances by students.*

August 13 - Conductor:  Lisa Sundquist, Band Director at GF High

Come on out and join the Municipal Band for another great season!  This is one of the longest continuously-running municipal bands in the country, and has been in operation since 1894.

Be sure to check the band's Facebook page for updates and more information.
