Out Dang Mouse: Natural Pest Control Secrets
Mice Can Be A Problem, Even If You Live In Town
The last couple of years, I've noticed a mouse or 2 in my yard and a few little holes that I think are courtesy of these city mice.
I don't like to kill mice for a couple of reasons. Let me share.
My dad was a prolific mouse poisoner. Thing is, sometimes they die where you can't find them and the smell can "gag a maggot off a meat wagon" as my dad would say.
The other reason I don't like killing them is disposing of the bodies. I really just hate it.
Is There A Way To REALLY Get Rid Of Mice Naturally?
Honestly, I think there is. I think I found the magic mouse mover outer spray. The kind that's working for me, I think, is this Harris Rodent Repellent Spray. I tell ya what, I wouldn't want to live somewhere that smelled like that either.
I Tried Other Things With Modest Success
I did try the pouches that smell like mint and lavender. While they didn't work in the garage, they did work at specific hole entrances that the mice had dug. I also bought an electronic unit that is said to emit a noise they hate. Like I said, it may be working, but I'm not sure. I'm trying so many things, with the exception of the spray, I don't know which is most effective.
Smells that mice hate are: peppermint oil, lavender, mint, cayenne pepper, pepper, and cloves.
I can't have a cat as I'm allergic, but another DIY natural remedy that I've seen a lot is putting used kitty litter around places you think mice are living. I can see that working, I just have to wonder how that smells.
