Montana, Prepare For ‘Second Winter’ and Bring Out the Shovels
I admit it, I wanted this spring in Montana to be normal. I was excited to hit the golf courses, unpack my shorts, pack away my winter gloves and hats for the season. When it's a sunny and 70 degree day, without a cloud in the sky, can you blame me? For a minute there, I had hope.
Winter Spring Storms in the Forecast for Montana
Mother Nature, of course, has other plans for Montana. Parts of Montana are bracing for what we jokingly refer to as "Second Winter". The joke goes back to "The Lord of The Rings" movies.
The weekend forecast is calling for snow and colder weather in some locations across the state. There is another saying about spring, "in like a lion, out like a lamb". It looks like we will be living up to that saying this weekend. Even though the calendar says it is officially spring and we have had some record high temperatures in the state lately. Winter may not be over just yet. That may be some great news for skiers and snowboarders. For those that were expecting to hit the golf course, this may not be the best weekend for a round of golf.
