For being someone who has grown up in the landlocked state of Montana, I never really cared much for seafood. But, when it comes to seafood I do like, shrimp is on the top of the list. I mean, who doesn't like shrimp?

According to

In the United States, shrimp is eaten more than any other type of seafood, so of course, it deserves its own day! Grill em, fry em, or eat em cold. Try them on a sandwich, on a salad, or one by one in some delicious cocktail sauce. Whatever you do, take some time to celebrate!

Missoula is 600 miles from the nearest ocean. But, what if I told you that you could catch your own live shrimp and eat them? Without the 600-mile drive? Just a few years ago, a Charlo man made the news, when he opened up a shrimp farm in the Mission Valley. Jim Vaughn, from Charlo, created a saltwater shrimp farm in his backyard. Using giant pools of salt water, Jim manages to raise hundreds of pounds of shrimp in the mountains of Montana. Watch how he does it.

If you are interested in getting your hands on fresh "Montana-raised" shrimp. You can reach out to Jim Vaughn by searching "Mission Valley Shrimp" on Facebook, on their website. Or call (406) 876-4546.

I would recommend making the trip to the shrimp ranch in the Mission Valley. Jim will not only give you a free tour of the facility. If you are lucky, you can catch your shrimp with your own hands.
